WINTER IN GLOUCESTER
On a laconic dusk
when it was winter
in Gloucester in 2015
a former French -Tunisian
Christian poet and friend
now living as American
sits by me on a Ravenswood
park bench by the Evergreen
as sunlight moves away
under the pallor of clouds
taking a selfie of me
at the miracle scene
in the neighborhood
of a Christmas creche
I'm energetically playing
a wonder of sax riffs
discussing late Gothic art
of Parisian cathedrals
and trying to relax.
