THE WHALE'S PATH

The humpbacked whales
path   leads his  strange
fishing crew
   wishing for an angel in prayer
will be watching
him  among sharks
 going beyond the law of the sea
  jumping  on dark heavy waves
feeling like  the Jewish prophet
 preaching
as Jonah sailing by the beach
to wicked Nineveh  seeming
     to have reached updating
for Melville a nirvana
  in his riddled novel of Esau
from his waked up dream with
  failed people waiting
to be saved.
