DAVID REED
Wishing to be
a colorist
orange cotillion
in the dawn
dreams out loud
in the abstraction
of lost time
to turn into a bedroom
painter,
on a sudden red splash
of immaterial
loving the strokes
of fresh airy half-speech
and fecund gesture
out of breath and boxes
us in the body words
of an intertwined kiss.
