DOUGLAS DUNN

August dog days
on a long distant
flight to give a reading
to a small college crowd
why do I consent
to visit this red brick
academic place
it's fun but boring
as the wine and cheese
but an indulgent guy
on a gaping high
who adores my poetry
made my young day
worth the night.
