This solstice hour
speaks for us all
among petals that dream
as June's pink tulips caress
the flowering Judas,
music from a picnic
rolls through heavy metal
and rocking Metallica
on the B.B.C.
on your walk in the country,
the compass says
time is short
solstice life today impresses
in soccer sports
June arrives to settle
when we are out of sorts,
in need of sunny weather
as you picture
on the tall grass the art
of Whistler.
