After war urges
the quest for life
no more crimes of death
or violent strife
a chance of a last breath
in a changing time
a silence for the dead
for engaging in resistance
in our peace metaphor
from an interrogation
or fascism's torture
from the horrors
of all collaboration
in the last bread knife.
