ENDRE ADY'S PASSING
(1887-1919)

Hungarian  tongues flee

  in prophetic possession

moments in
 a poet's motionless moon

 over Budapest's spell
  as a tiny angel statue
is carried in a cafe after a funeral

 a Roma child
with long hair
plays airs in G

  from a quarter violin.
