     student
    in a love template
  feeling prudent
  goes to Manhattan to see
''Werther,"
the Massenet opera
    today
alone on the Met balcony
     weeps   until the last act
at his melancholy pattern
          after the facts
will accompany
him to distill his latest
    drawing  to exchange
on the bourse
a rather  still life for another
 bourgeois of course.
