You chose to invite
noble Madame du Barry
for her letters and vignettes
to a desert of white cake
goat yogurt,
and a drink of white wine
by candlelight in Grenoble
near the Alps
with just a chance time
 to dine with confection
after viewing a Fragonard
hearing an avalanche collapse
into a sinking direction
others enter her rooms
without thinking of regrets.
