IMPROVISATION #284
YOU PUT ON FUR

You put on dark fur
feeling a breath
of windy air
from the last snow
reading the bard
Richard Wilbur
with his translated Voltaire
and a play of Moliere
from the French
here in the sun
on a Boston Common
park bench
feeding the birds
who fly off the roof
near the gazebo.
