BAUDELAIRE'S "FAVORS OF THE MOON"

Early reading
when myth is missing
there is no poem
or painting recompensed
as in Pollock's "Moon Woman"
in a redressed worn
space of time
when paint and language
turn its canvas head and page
to each vagabond's caprice
and land into a student's lap
as paroxysms and phantasms
head first.
