in watery heated springs
of August recess
when the world imagines
the war is over
in the mind and body
of brain splattered papers
on the floor of the school
does it really matter
when bombs make numbness
and altered all reason
in the all clear
when 2 minutes
of civilization cracked
your skull
and you cannot recall
the lines on Hamlet's face.
