AT THE CHARLES RIVER
Easing the summer
at the Charles River
translating Baudelaire
on an Esplanade bench
with tree shade
tall grass has grown
no wiser,
inhaling the blue wind air
with sailboats on the dim sea
on a diffusive August noon
the river runs by marathon
over the hub's memory
as dizzy acorns fall
from weary Oaks.
