HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI

Putting away rattles
and old toys
of woodblock prints
and scarred photographs
imaging being on quiet grass
before the snowy flash
surrendering blood and bones
to an inferno,
only the wind may hears us
touching a handful of urns
by the sea,
even the strawberries
do not taste the same.
