IMPROVISATION# 132
MIKLOS RADNOTI'S DAY
(1909-1944)
Hearing the same voices
near echoes of birch
in a whirlwind of trees
there is no where to hide
under the frozen breeze
not in any pew of church
Miklos followed to his death
within the running breath
in the endgame of the Nazis
from a cold night search
for a safe station
wishing for a concealed safety
on your controlled fate revealed
as once a poor Jewish soul
in Hungary perishes
with arm stamped
at Bori Notesz
concentration camp.
