IMPROVISATION #188
ODILON REDON'S SYMBOLISM

Opened a chapter
of Odilon Redon
  in his ''Bohemian book"
  at  a sunny afternoon
 catching his ''Eye Balloon"
and the symbolism
  in his "Chariot Apollo"
    with an "Angel in Chains"
     only a Proustian time
 regains an hour
of an intensity of  a fairies green
in our impressionist veins
  of the new remains
 in hues
 of "Ophelia among the Flowers"
voicing  in starry flurries
  of a scene
    locked into languages
of  a choice
from sudden dramatic blue
or  from his
 rambling meticulous
  ''Birth of Venus"
or  fantastic images epiphanies
 and  periphrastic  landscapes
 in  earthy
     artistic images
of a "Meadow with Horses"
  or   "Medoc Hearthland"
and  the Cliffs of Valieres."
