IMPROVISATION#255
DRIVING TO VERMONT
The windshield has a coat
of snow from a recent storm
leaving my sound proof studio
driving to Vermont
to meet my aunt
in her Bread and Breakfast
to share a latte at her bench
with hot almond croissants
speaking in French
at her kitchen nook
sharing my poetry words
by abandoned barns
once full of horses
near the railway trains
over the pond which glitters
from the sunshine
feeding the tiny sparrows
and blackbirds
where there is ice fishing
even in the still life rain
falling continually
by log cabin shadows
feeling I'm in a landscape
of a Winslow Homer painting.
