UP TO VERMONT

We came home
at night to Vermont
to visit my aunt's
bed and breakfast
having a java
and a cheese croissant
looking at the sky
which was bright red
at the edge of the sky
among the light clouds
as I'm preparing my lecture
on Frost,Lowell and Plath
as heaven's starry colors
burn my eye in its path.
