a seagull overhead
Montale feels a loss
in a waiver of silence
catching a chance raven
appearing in the red sky
birds reaching
a dark windy storm
leaves gather together
as a change returns
in the warm weather
searching in its source
in a wellspring
as a poet searches
for new words of course.
