THE NEWS GUYS

Some reporters
 sit  in front of our eyes
  with dour faces
 these so called talking heads
walking aback what they said
previously an hour before
 fresh from their beds
with more sour lips
     reading the unpleasing news
   they express no feelings
 nothing impresses them
and who can blame them
  for the added statistics
   about a new rocket
 and its ballistics
going into the sea
or about a sports person
who missed his/her footing
on the Alps
in an avalanche
 from a  wakening
 thunder of a snow collapse
was it this way
in the Holocaust
when eleven hundred
Jewish people
in let us say, in May
were cast into the oven
or in Hiroshima or Nagasaki
a dozen were lost
among the Japanese
in the Atomic blast
in August, 1945
when no one knows
who is alive or survives
from the ashes
across Europe or Asia
it's as if the reporters
have aphasia
and what of the last day
when these talking lips
in front of the camera
will mouth on about
an Apocalypse
passing an expression
in slow motion
without feelings
or any commotion
or loss not revealing
as if all they wish
is a promotion
at another's loss.
