CARNIVAL IN NICE

Asking for a miracle
   to get us to Nice
  for carnival
      with our masks
   intact at a distance
  with our one chance
 to visit the ramparts
at a French romance
   by this Beat poet
 as focused by
 an artsy jazz  culture
     effaced by puppets
sitting out
 by benches  at a dance
   in crazed movements
   of adventure
trying to be disquieting.
